Last fall, my babysitter connections all dried up! For anyone contemplating Day Care options, PLEASE look into the Nanny option! Your children have the benefit of spending their days in their own home and own environment. They are able to play with their own siblings of different ages, rather than being separated into groups by age. They learn to share with their siblings. And, a qualified Nanny will be able to incorporate just as much learning into a child's day as a Day Care center. However, a Nanny will do it like parents do...through every day activities. Playing with sidewalk chalk is an opportunity to learn to write out letters. Art projects are chances to learn to cut an paste and follow directions. Walks are times to explore nature. And, the best part is nap time takes place in their own beds.

I am a firm believer that children have the opportunity to become secure in themselves and where they come from before entering kindergarten when they will be influenced by people and friends from all different home lives. I find that having a Nanny has helped to reinforce that "base". I am not against any qualified Day Care solution, I have just found a qualified Nanny to be the best fit for our family.
